The Mac is the studio.
The iPhone is the field.
Mac writes. iPad prompts and records. iPhone or Watch controls. CloudKit keeps the session in sync; Handoff and NearbyInteraction let any GlassCue device take over for any other.
Front-camera prompter overlay with Liquid Glass on iOS 26. ProRes and Apple Log capture on supported hardware. External mic and BT-keyboard remote. Retake-marker sidecars that drop straight into Final Cut Pro and Premiere. Designed as one experience that happens to span devices, not three apps that occasionally talk.
Why we're building it
One experience that happens to span devices.
Not three apps that occasionally talk. The Mac writes the script. The iPad prompts and records. The iPhone or Apple Watch controls the session. CloudKit keeps everything in sync; Handoff and NearbyInteraction let any GlassCue device take over for any other in the middle of a take.
Continuity-first — start a take on iPad, finish it on iPhone, edit on Mac.
ProRes / Apple Log on supported hardware. Front-camera prompter overlay rendered in real Liquid Glass.
BT-keyboard remote and MFi clicker support, with the same CueAction surface as the Mac.
Retake sidecars that turn into FCPXML and Premiere XML markers without leaving the device.
The bar we're holding ourselves to
The recording side has to feel like Blackmagic Camera or Final Cut Camera.
The whole point of GlassCue on iOS is that this is the pro creator video tool with a teleprompter built in — not a teleprompter that grew a record button. The recording engine is being engineered to the same bar as the apps you'd otherwise use for the camera side.
ProRes
Capture in ProRes at the resolutions and framerates the device supports. Drops straight into Final Cut without a transcode.
Apple Log
Log capture on hardware that supports it. Grade later. Save the highlights.
External mic & MFi remote
BT keyboard for full keyboard control on set. MFi clicker support. The same CueAction surface as the Mac.
Retake sidecars
Retake markers stamped at wall-clock time, exported as FCPXML and Premiere XML markers — no laptop required.
When iOS ships, your GlassCue license ships with you.
The Mac app is shipping now. iOS is in active development with no public date — we'd rather take the time and ship something that feels like the rest of the studio than slice it thin. Get on the list and we'll tell you the day a build is ready.
